The Fight for Ratby is Far from Over!

Ratby Conservation Area

Hi Everyone,

Today marked the final day for objections to be submitted to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council. Ozzy and I hand-delivered the 350 physical letters we received from residents, while all emails and online forms are already with the HBBC Planning Office, we will find out how many responses they received in total in a few days time.

But this battle isn’t over yet! We need to learn from and build on past efforts and step up our communication with over 4,000 people in the village to create the strongest opposition possible and stay ahead of the curve.

Join Rise for Ratby – We Need Volunteers, and LOTS of Them!

The more people we have on board, the lighter the load for everyone. We’re building a core team of Ratby residents to take ownership of specific roads in the village (once we’ve sorted out numbers). With 92 roads to cover, our goal is simple: we want every household to have a friendly, face-to-face conversation with a local volunteer who will provide them with an information pack (details to come). This will give every resident the opportunity to submit their objection and show HBBC that Ratby stands united against unnecessary housing developments.

We’ll also make things even easier by offering to collect objection letters, streamlining the entire process for our neighbours.

Safety First: Door Knocking in Pairs

For safety, volunteers will work in pairs as they go door to door, helping us spread the word more effectively.

Once we have enough volunteers, we’ll meet in person (or online for those who prefer) to share more details, gather your feedback, and ensure everyone is ready to canvass their designated streets.

Ready to take a stand for Ratby? We need you! Message me if you would like to be involved and are happy to be responsible for a street.

Many thanks

Phil Tenwick
